Update on Wetlands Area and Playpark

Contractors have been appointed for the wetlands and the new entrances – work is hopefully going to start around mid – February (the contractors are worried about losing their equipment in the mud!). Work may start slightly earlier than this on the entrances.

Appointing a contractor for the play park is still on schedule, and work should start in March.

Exciting times ahead 🙂

Maryhill Park featured in new Maryhill Burgh Halls Walking Trail

Screen Shot 2013-11-15 at 13.46.10Their new walking trail, (their third), takes in northern Maryhill. The Burgh Halls walking trail guides really are fantastic – they have really detailed directions so you can’t get lost and lots of interesting historical facts about where you are walking.

This is a circular route of about 3 miles, and is best started either at Maryhill train station, or at the former White House Inn.

The trail guide can be downloaded from here .

Tennis-RacquetMaryhill park now has five tennis courts in playable condition. Please go use them – they are free to use and you do not need to book. The evenings are getting longer now, and what could be nicer than a wee game of tennis to unwind at the end of the day!

There are also various tennis activities being laid on for young people – see the two posts previous to this one for more information.
